People were asking for a camera-centric phone, as the OnePlus 15 is a performance-centric phone. Its camera isn’t that great. And the iPhone is a compact phone. And the Vivo X300 is also a compact phone. There’s nothing much in the iPhone Box. You’ll get a phone, a Type-C to Type-C cable, and a SIM ejector pin. But in Vivo, there’s a lot of stuff. You’ll get a cover, a 90W flash charger, an A-to-C cable, and a SIM ejector pin. I have a complaint against Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus that they should shift from Type-A to Type-C. If you buy the iPhone’s official charger separately, then you get a 30W charger for Rs 3,800.
Then, pricing and variants. The price of iPhone 8GB/256GB is 82,900, but then you go up to 512 GB, you pay over 1,00,000. Vivo X300 has 12GB RAM on the base model at 75,999 for the 12GB/256GB, 81,999 for the 12GB/512GB, and 85,999 for the 16GB/512GB. I think 16GB/512GB doesn’t make much sense, as 12GB RAM is enough. And 12GB/512GB is a sweet spot if you don’t want to empty the memory again and again. Then, starting with design. Both are similar in size. There’s a very minor difference.
Display:
iPhone 17 is 6.27 inches, and Vivo X300 is 6.31 inches. Both have glass on the back with a matte finish. And one thing I felt is that the iPhone feels a little more slippery than the Vivo X300. The grip of the X300 is good. And in terms of buttons, the iPhone has two extra buttons. There’s a camera control button which is so useful that I haven’t used it till now. And there’s an action button on which you can assign different actions.
Camera action is assigned to this, too. And it’s mainly used for silent and ringing. But there’s no extra button on the Vivo X300. They’ve given a button on the X300 Pro, but they’ve left out the little brother. Apart from that, both have a USB-C port. You can take display output from both at 4K 60FPS. But the iPhone has a USB 2.0 port, whereas the X300 has 3.2 Gen 1. Which means you will get fast speed data transfer if you install external storage.
Both support dual SIMs. But you can install dual physical SIMs in the Vivo X300. But the iPhone has one physical SIM and one eSIM. You can also install an eSIM in the Vivo X300, too. But only two SIMs will work at once. In terms of back glass protection, the iPhone gives Corning Gorilla Glass protection. But there’s no protection mentioned in the Vivo X300. That’s why they’ve given a cover in the box; please use it.
And the iPhone 17 is IP68 rated, so there is no issue if it gets wet. But in the Vivo X300, you get up to an IP69 rating. So you’ll have more peace of mind. But keep it safe because we don’t get a warranty for these things. And there’s a difference in weight. The iPhone is slightly lighter, around 187g. Whereas the Vivo is around 195g. But it doesn’t feel that heavy in the hand. We got to know only after weighing them. So I liked them both in terms of design.

Colour options:
They have their own colour options. You can choose according to your preference. By the way, which one did you like in terms of design? Vivo X300 or iPhone 17? Tell me in the comments. And both have good haptics in their own places. But the taptic engine that you get in the iPhone, personally, I like Apple’s haptics more. Their implementation is also good. And there’s a feature in the iPhone. In Apple Music, you can play songs with haptics. So you’ll feel the haptics as the song plays.
I don’t know who’s doing this and who needs this, but it’s fun once or twice. In terms of audio, both have stereo speakers. But the iPhone has a soothing and fulfilling sound. Compared to Vivo, the iPhone's speakers are also loud, but still, I liked the iPhone’s speakers more. And the iPhone has Dolby Atmos support. Vivo has its own super audio. But I’d say Dolby Atmos is always better. So in terms of audio, the iPhone is the winner.
What about audio & Video support:
And talking about audio, both have high-res codec support. You can pause the video and watch it on the screen. Now comes the part where you have to watch the whole day on the phone, I mean, the display. Both have a 6.3-inch display. Both have an LTPO AMOLED display. Apple calls it Super Retina XDR. And in terms of protection, the iPhone has Ceramic Shield 2 protection on the display. While in Vivo X300, you get Schott Sensation XT Core Glass.
And Ceramic Shield 2 is better than Sensation. Both have similar resolution, and both have an FHD+ display. Both have a 120Hz refresh rate, and LTPO goes up to 1Hz. Apple calls it ProMotion display. These are just expensive words used by Apple. Both have similar bezels, and the viewing experience is good. iPhone has a big Dynamic Island, and Vivo has a small dot. This is a good thing.
Both have Always-On Display and HDR support. I was testing the colour gamut, and both have similar sRGB values. But if you look at the overall colour gamut, Adobe RGB, P3, and NTSC values, Vivo’s display was performing better there. Then we tested the brightness, and we got similar numbers around 950–970 nits. So if you use it indoors or outdoors in extreme light conditions, both phones are usable.
And if I talk about HDR, I was playing in Costa Rica. Both have a good dynamic range, and everything is good. But in Vivo, the colours go slightly to the vivid side. So if we watch any content on Vivo X300, we get a better feeling. There is a reason for that. We selected a bright mode in the settings. Apart from that, you also get natural and professional. So you can tweak your colours. Both won’t disappoint in terms of display.
But I will add one thing here. iPhone has Dolby Vision support, which Vivo doesn’t have. And if we conclude the display, in my opinion, there is a tie. Vivo has 12GB RAM, and iPhone has 8GB RAM. So Vivo is better, and the same goes for the storage as well. Vivo has UFS 4.1, which has better read and write speed compared to the iPhone’s NVMe.
Network Bands:
But the iPhone has more 5G bands. You get 23 5G bands compared to Vivo, which has 17. Apart from that, Vivo has an IR blaster, which is not available on the iPhone. According to Apple, this is a cheap thing and not useful. So they don’t give it in their phones. So you will get this extra edge in Vivo. And to unlock the phone, the iPhone has Face ID, which works very well. You can unlock it in the dark.
The Vivo X300 has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which works very well and is fast. So, things are good in their own places. For example, I find the IR blaster useful. Sometimes it becomes useful. And personally, I use a fingerprint scanner because I’m an Android user. If I had an iPhone, then Face ID would be the only option. As far as connectivity is concerned, I didn’t feel any issue.
As far as we used it with Jio or Airtel SIM, so according to me, we cannot make one of them win. Both are better in their own places. Now let’s take a look at the benchmarks. It doesn’t make much sense as both phones have their own architecture. Still, if you look at the AnTuTu benchmark, Dimensity 9500 is performing well with scores around 3.2M compared to iPhone 17’s A19 chip, which is giving a score of 2.1M.
Then you can look at GeekBench 6 numbers. And there’s no point in comparing GPUs because the iPhone and Android frameworks are completely different. And what should we talk about AI? Most of it runs on the cloud. And iPhone’s AI is also not that good. They are already asking for help from Google. And I did the Wild Life Extreme Test. So here, iPhone 17 is more stable.
Full on Gaming Test:
But if you look at the best and lowest loop scores, then Vivo is better. I mean, its performance is obviously better. But I would say if you are running multiple applications side by side or if you are running an editing app on your phone, both won’t disappoint. Both perform optimally in their own places. Still, I was testing gaming. Both have 120FPS support in BGMI and Call of Duty Mobile.
In Genshin Impact, you will get an upper edge on iPhone. It has 120FPS support. But in Vivo, it runs at 60FPS. And in Wuthering Waves, both run at 60FPS in quality settings. But yes, on iPhone, you will natively get AAA games like Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Resident Evil, and more will come in the future. Games keep launching on iPhone.
But if we talk about Android, there is RDR on Netflix. You can play it on all devices. And if we talk about emulation gaming, Android has the upper hand. But if you talk about Windows gaming like GameHub, Dimensity chipsets are not optimised. Even if you look at YouTube, you won’t find any videos because it doesn’t work properly. You won’t get better performance.
If you want to buy a phone specifically for gaming around this price range, then I will recommend the OnePlus 15 or the iQOO 15. Both videos are available on the channel. And there is a comparison of both. You can check them out. Then comes the operating system and user interface. In Vivo, we get Origin OS 6, which is Android 16. And on the iPhone, we get iOS 26. And on iPhone, we get updates for 5-6 years.
Software Updates:
And Vivo has also promised good 5 years of major updates and 7 years of security patches. So you can run both phones comfortably in the long run. But if we talk about the use case, both UIs are user-friendly. There is no problem in running them. Yes, if you are shifting from Android to iPhone, for this you have to take some tuition and YouTube classes to understand. But it is understandable.
This is only for new users who are shifting from Android to iPhone. Other than that, I like the design and aesthetics of the iPhone. If we see the animation and icons, you can run anything. iPhone gives a premium feeling. Then, in terms of features, Origin OS 6 is filled with them. You get amazing features. There is customisation. If you want to customise your UI, then you will get it in Origin OS 6 compared to iOS 26.
I have talked about it in detail in the article. And you get AI in both phones. Some perform better on some and some on others. So they are fine in their own places. And there is a special callout to the Apple ecosystem. The Apple ecosystem is very strong if you have Apple devices. So you can choose the operating system and user interface according to your needs. Yes, if you are running Origin OS for the first time, then you will get a lot of videos on Origin OS. And if you have used an iPhone before, then you must know about it. Things differ in terms of battery. iPhone has a 3692 mAh battery.
Battery:
Vivo X300 has a 6040 mAh battery. And the results are surprising. iPhone gave a screen-on time of 8 hours in mixed usage. The same day-to-day tasks like YouTube, Instagram, some gaming, and WhatsApp, like a person normally does. Whereas Vivo X300 gives 9 hours or a little more battery backup. So the optimisation of the iPhone is very good if we look at the battery mAh. And if we talk about charging, officially, Apple claims that the iPhone 17 charges at 40W. But in India, you don’t get a 40W charger. You get a 30W charger. It took 1 hour and 42 minutes to fully charge. On the other hand, Vivo charges at 95 minutes with its 90W charger.
So in terms of charging, Vivo takes the lead. And if we talk about wireless charging, the iPhone has MagSafe support, which is good, but it only supports 25W wireless charging. And in Vivo X300, it has 40W wireless charging. But there’s no MagSafe support. You’ll have to buy a separate cover for the magnets. But still, in terms of battery and charging, the Vivo X300 is the winner.
Camera Comparison:
Now comes the main thing: what’s the condition of the camera? Although you can see that the camera setup is strong. You can see all the specs on the screen. The iPhone has a dual 48MP camera, while the Vivo has a 200MP and two 50MP cameras. And if you look at the front camera, the iPhone has an 18MP camera while the Vivo has a 50MP camera.
We always consider the iPhone to be the best for videos, but over time, Vivo has done a lot of work on videos. If you record from the front camera, you get 4K 60FPS support in both phones. But Vivo X300 also supports portrait video. And in the Vivo X300, you can shift between 0.8, 1, and 2 in the front camera. Although no one will do this much, you get the option of an extra focal length. If you make a video from the back, you get HDR Dolby Vision support on the iPhone at 4K 60FPS. But in the Vivo X300, you get up to 4K 120FPS. And you also get Log support in Pro mode, which is not present in the iPhone.
And when you switch to stabilisation mode or action mode in the iPhone, both shift to 2.8K 60FPS. And you can record portrait video from the back, but the iPhone supports 4K 30FPS. But the Vivo X300 supports 4K 60FPS. And this is the video sample from the front camera. The microphone is also being used on both phones side by side. This is the quality. It’s a walking shot, so you can get an idea of stability.
The quality of both looks good. You tell me whose colours, quality, and dynamic range are better, or if we shift against the sun, then whose management is better. Tell me quickly. And this is the video sample from the back camera. Both phones are recording at 4K 60FPS. By the way, Vivo has the option of 4K 120FPS, but we kept it similar in both.
If you look at the front camera pictures, then the iPhone maintains more sharpness. Vivo smoothens it a little. And it is slightly on a pinkish side. There is an extra pink tone on the face. And even if you look at the sky, it is more bluish on the side compared to the iPhone. The iPhone maintains a little natural tint. And the same thing happens with the greens. And if you look at the hair, they are very black. Vivo does a lot of processing, but the iPhone keeps it on the natural side.
If you look at the back camera, then the iPhone has more sharpness. It maintains very good colours. Like we are shooting against the sun, so here you can see the dynamic range. It’s not like Vivo is bad in its place, whether it is front or back. It is also shooting a very good video. But the iPhone has an upper edge in terms of video. In portrait video, no doubt, the iPhone is very good. Firstly, look at the edge detection; it is being maintained very well. The skin colour, the hair colour, Vivo has ruined it in portrait video. Similarly, if you look at the back camera, it has the same scene. The iPhone maintains very good colours.
And ultimately, we can say that the iPhone is the winner in terms of video. But yes, I will give credit to Vivo. Their video quality has also improved a lot to date. And now coming on to the photos. Before that, let me tell you one thing. In the iPhone, we have kept the style as standard. And in Vivo, we have selected the Zeiss mode, in which it clicks natural photos. We did not select any vivid or vibrant modes in both phones to make a fair comparison. Let’s start with the ultra-wide. If we talk about the dynamic range, the colour of the sky looks good in both. But if you look at the darker areas, Vivo processes it well. In the iPhone, there is slightly more darkness.
And even the shots look very natural and good in Vivo. Like in the ground shots, the shadows look better in Vivo. And if you look at the overall colours, or if we look at the details, if we zoom in, then in ultra-wide, Vivo X300 captures more details than the iPhone. And the iPhone is a little wider because it’s around 13mm. And if we look at the low-light samples, the night processing of the iPhone is next level. If you look at the sky, it’s completely black without major noise. And in Vivo, it goes towards the noisy or greyish side. And Vivo captures more light. So if you look at the night samples, you’ll find Vivo better.
About Skin tones:
And if we talk about the skin tones, iPhone maintains natural skin tones. And in Vivo X300, it is on a reddish or warmer side. And Vivo X300 gives you social media-ready photos that you can just click and upload. Then, coming to the main camera sensor, the processing is the same. But if you look at the details, the iPhone 17 gives more details because it captures photos at 24MP. And Vivo X300 clicks photos at around 13MP. Rest, Vivo still looks better and punchier in the overall scenario. And the dynamic range is the same. In the darkest and brightest parts, Vivo does better processing. And if you look at the greens, you’ll get a subtle colour in the iPhone.
But in Vivo X300, even if you're clicking on the natural mode, you’ll get more contrast and vibrance compared to the iPhone. Rest, we took multiple human samples. As I told you about the skin tones, the iPhone keeps it on the natural side. And Vivo makes the image pop and contrasty. And I also saw the same thing in the night samples. At night, you get less noise in the iPhone if you look at the sky photos. But overall, if we look at the other night samples, Vivo looks better in most areas. Then comes the 2X. This is the digital zoom of the primary sensor of both phones. It has the same processing and feeling. You can see it on the screen.
And the main magic lies in Vivo’s 3X periscope camera. There is no dedicated telephoto or periscope sensor in the iPhone. So we did it manually on the iPhone. And there is a dedicated sensor in Vivo. And if you look at the colours, Vivo produces them very well. iPhone looks a little washed out sometimes. And if you look at the night samples, Vivo captures better details just because of the dedicated sensor. And if you look at the photo in direct street light, there is a ring around the iPhone. There is nothing like this in Vivo. So I saw that the halo effect is not present in Vivo, which is still present in the iPhone.
And if you look at the colours in the human samples, the iPhone keeps it on a natural side. And in Vivo, they are on a warmer side. There is a reddish tone which I always talk about. And we are taking a photo with a 70mm focal length, so it feels like a natural bokeh in Vivo. And I would say that Vivo outshines. Like, look at this photo of Scooby, it looks so good. And we clicked some photos in 10x. There is a dedicated Periscope sensor in Vivo. After that, it goes up to 10x zoom digitally. And it went up to 10x in the iPhone. And we took multiple samples here. Vivo any day outshines in simple, indoor, outdoor, and night photos.
Photos and Portraits:
Then coming on to the portraits. There is a difference in the focal length here. We get 1X and 2X in the iPhone. And, it goes up to 3X if you could zoom in. And in Vivo, we have seen a wide range of different focal lengths from 23mm to 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm. Now look at the camera sample. The focal length of 23mm is the same, and you get a normal background blur here. And usually, people don’t even click on the 23mm photo. But still, you can get an idea. You get good edge detection in both devices. Skin tones are followed in the same way. Then we took different samples in the second focal length as well. The 2X of the iPhone crops a little more.
And the 35mm of the Vivo X300 has the same focal length. And if you look at the background blur, it’s good in both devices. We get good edge detection in both devices. And you can see different samples. I couldn’t decide which one is better. Both devices are performing well in portraits till now. And then we get 50mm in the Vivo X300. But you can take it up to 3X in the iPhone as well. And in 3X, the iPhone takes very natural and good portraits. If you look at the Vivo X300 at 50mm, the photos are good. And if you look at both devices side by side, the iPhone’s consistency is better.
For example, if there are skin tones, the Vivo X300 takes them up and down according to the situation. But if we go to 85mm, which is dedicated to the Vivo X300, or if we go to 100mm, which is very common, portraits come out very well. It’s a real-life cinematic look. So the Vivo X300 has an upper edge in portraits. Then there are selfies. In selfies, I found the Vivo X300’s colours to be good. But the iPhone’s skin tones are a little yellowish and look weird. And this is also on Zeiss mode, which is the natural mode. And there are multiple samples, you can see. And then there are portraits. In portraits, the background blur and edge detection of both phones are good.
Final Conclusion:
And overall, I can say that in terms of selfies, I found the Vivo X300 to be better. So this was their comparison. And the first answer is for those who want to buy an iPhone only. First of all, they’ll say Why would anyone buy an Android phone at Rs 80K when you are getting an iPhone 17 256GB, 120Hz display, etc. That is okay.
If you want to buy an iPhone, it’s a very good device. There’s nothing bad about it. I told everything in the video. And if you want to buy an iPhone only, then there could not be a better choice than this. But if you want to go for Android, want a good camera, slightly better performance than iPhone, which is not recognizable on the ground, but still, you only want Android, and again, if your priority is the camera, then you should go for Vivo X300.
Oppo Find X also comes at the same price. I have compared it with Find X9 on my channel. You can watch that once. And if you are looking for a performance-centric phone for around Rs 75,000–80,000, then you can check the OnePlus 15 and the iQOO 15. Their review and comparison are also available on the channel. By that, you will get even more ideas about the users those phones target. That was all from my side. Rest, you tell me which phone you are using out of these two phones. What are your thoughts and feedback?
